Access Evo - Language Translation

Properties can now customise how the language translation function behaves on the booking engine.

Written by Rilind Maben

Instantly translate content into your guest's preferred language, making your platform accessible to a global audience.

All static and dynamic content is now translatable via Google Translate when translating from default language to another language, with the exception of:

  • Property Name

  • Room Name

  • Package Name

This helps to maintain brand integrity.

Group Booking Engine These enhancements do not apply to group booking engine. We will advise once implemented.

Translation Pop-up Warning:

When a customer uses the translation function on the Booking Engine, a pop-up message appears warning about possible inaccuracies in Google translated content.

Customisation Options: permissions on how to manage and display translator on your Booking engine

  1. Hide the language translation function entirely.

  2. Disable the translation pop-up warning.

  3. Enable Google Translate for Property Name, Room Name and Package Name.

  4. Customise available languages for the translation feature.

Language settings can be managed in the MAX Extranet as under:

Navigate to Booking Engine Settings

Login to extranet > Booking Engine > Booking Engine settings

Scroll to Language & Translation

Default Language Setup:

  1. By default, English is always selected as the booking engine language.

  2. Supported default languages: English, Italian, Vietnamese, Arabic, Japanese, German, Dutch, Polish, Simplified Chinese, French, Spanish

Important Notes:

  1. If a property sets a default language (e.g., French), all content descriptions (e.g., property and room descriptions, rate details, policies, widget labels, etc.) must be manually configured in that language.

  2. If descriptions are set up in English, Google translation will not apply. Dynamic translation (Via Google Translate) only applies when a customer chooses to translate from the default language to another language.

  1. All static content is translated to the property's configured default language.

  2. Amenities however are not translated to the default language.

Enable Languages for Translation

  1. By default, all supported languages are enabled for translation on the booking engine.

  2. Properties can customise this by selecting only the specific languages they want to make available to customers.

  3. This allows for a more controlled and relevant user experience based on the property's target markets.

This setting is only applicable when the Google Translator feature is enabled.

Disable Translate Pop-up

  1. Properties can disable the pop-up message that warns users about the potential inaccuracy of Google translations.

  2. When this option is enabled, customers will not see the warning message when using the translation feature.

This setting is only applicable if the Google Translator feature is enabled.

Translate Property Name, Room Name, and Rate Name

  1. By default, these three labels are excluded from Google translation to preserve brand identity and naming consistency:

    1. Property Name

    2. Room Name

    3. Package Name

  1. For greater flexibility, properties can enable a setting to allow Google Translate to apply to these labels as well.

This setting is only applicable if the Google Translator feature is enabled.
