The Counter feature allows properties to set availability limits for specific rooms and rate types on selected channels.
Use case:
Enables control over the number of bookings per room/rate type on particular channels
Does not impact the inventory grid in booking channels
Inventory can continue to be updated as usual
Configured at the rate plan level
Steps to configure:
The Counter limits the number of bookings for a room and rate type on selected channels.
Once the defined limit is reached, stop-sell is automatically triggered
The counter value cannot exceed the total room count set in the room type setup
After configuration, the counter value can be increased or decreased, however it can never exceed the total room count configured in room type setup
Steps to find it:
From the Availability and Rate tab.
From the Rules drop down, select Counter. Below is the screenshot for your reference.
Click on the counter cell and Set counter value or view existing counter details
Key information:
Even with a counter set, it is possible for a booking to come in above the counter limit — stop-sell is only triggered after a booking is received and the counter limit is reduced
If the main inventory falls below the counter value, stop-sell will be automatically triggered and highlighted on the calendar
All counter value changes will be reflected in the logs
