A property uses Matrix to manage rates, where one or more room types are configured to derive their rate from a master room type. In this setup, the PMS sends rate updates for all room types — including those set to derive from a master. This can cause conflicts, as derived room types are intended to inherit rates rather than receive them independently.
With this enhancement, properties can now block PMS rate updates for those specific room types, ensuring derived rates remain intact and rate management stays consistent.
Conditions
Feature is only available when the connected PMS supports rate updates. If PMS rate update is blocked at middleware (at property level), it is automatically blocked at room level
If PMS rate updates are blocked at the middleware level (property level), the block is automatically applied to all room types — no additional room-level configuration is required, and you will not be able to change the setting at room level.
This feature does not apply to Pseudo rooms
Steps to set up
1. Navigate to PMS Connect and click to open the settings pop-up.
2. Enable the toggle for the room type(s) you wish to block from receiving PMS rate updates.
3. Save changes.
