Charge Card Feature

This feature is available to properties that have subscribed to Payment Gateway that supports the Charge Card feature option

We have developed a new feature that provides the property with the ability to manually charge a Credit Card directly in the MAX extranet for Hotel Collect bookings. Payment will be processed via the Payment Gateway.

Charge card feature is now available for Channel Collect bookings with a Virtual Card. Similar to direct bookings, available for PGs that support the charge card feature.

Uses of the Charge Card feature

  • This allows you to Charge Payment for bookings that have been received without Payment.

  • Saves you from having to access your Payment Gateway system and manually enter details to process payment.

  • Select bookings that you want to process payment for – at the click of a button.

Steps to Charge Card for a booking

Once enabled, properties will see the “Charge Card” button via the booking module. This button will display for Hotel Collect bookings that contain CC details.

  • To process payment, select the “Charge Card” button. This is a manual process and is completed at the booking level.

  • Once selected, the property will see the below “pop-up’.

  • Property can edit and determine the amount to charge/collect.

  • For properties that have Multi-Payment Gateway enabled, you will see all PGs available that support the Charge Card feature.

  • Payment Gateway displayed is based on the currency booked (Example: booking made for NZD currency; Charge Card will display all Payment Gateways enabled for the booked currency that support Charge Card).

  • CVV is not required for Payment Gateways that do not require this to process payment (this field will not display – if not required).

  • For Payment Gateway(s) that require this information, the system will automatically pull in information (if received).

  • If no CVV is available, property to obtain and enter in the CVV field.

  • Once done, simply click on “Proceed”.

Failed Transaction

  • If the transaction fails, an error message will be returned.

  • The “Charge Card “button will remain visible for that booking.

Successful Transaction

  • Confirmation returned (example below).

  • The “Charge Card” button will no longer be available.

  • The charged amount will be displayed.

  • Partial payment/deposit charged amount and Pay on Arrival amount indicated in the booking.

  • Taxes and Other charges are indicated.

  • Booking status is then modified, and the booking with the deposit amount is sent to PMS (if applicable)


IMPORTANT information

  • Booking must have credit card details.

  • Stay dates must be current (Charge button will be visible on day of checkout and currently based on GMT).

  • Booking payment type = Hotel Collect.

  • Charge Card button is not visible if the above conditions are not met.
